POP-Up Field Trips

In the spirit of offering as many field trips as possible, thereby giving more birders the chance to bird with experienced birders and learn about new and interesting places to bird, Sacramento Audubon Society (SAS) is now offering “Pop-Up” field trips. We’d like to take advantage of quicker ways to communicate through the SAS website and SAS Facebook pages. These trips are in addition to those announced in The Observer and usually provide shorter notice and do not require registration.

The idea behind pop-up field trips is to make the most of field trip leaders’ availability and to follow up good habitat and bird reports in quicker time than planned trips posted in the Observer. If good bird and / or habitat areas pop up and a trip leader is available, the goal is to get out there and investigate. Keep an eye out as we navigate new field trip ideas and be sure to check the SAS Field Trips page and Facebook for new trips popping up.
