Open Space Protection Updates

Guest Speaker: Steve Schweigerdt

Join us as we learn more about local conservation projects and updates on protecting land in the Sacramento valley.

Steve Schweigerdt has been working in conservation in Northern California for 20 years and has a diverse background including PG&E watershed land conservation with the Stewardship Council, urban parks for San Francisco Parks Alliance, trails and greenways with Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, restoration with Sacramento Tree Foundation, and acquisition and development work with private infill developer LJ Urban. Steve has been SVC’s acquisition specialist for the past two years, thanks to funding from the Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation (SALC) program.

Please RSVP at the SVC’s website by 6pm the evening prior. Space is limited. Parking and admission are free, but donations are encouraged ($5-$20 per person recommended). All money collected will be split between SVC and a nonprofit chosen by the presenter. Complete your liability waiver in advance for faster check-in.
