This is a Folsom Lake State Recreation Area and Folsom Powerhouse State Historic Park event. Registration is required.
Kick the year off with State Parks! Join us for a 2.5 mile out-and-back hike to Avery's Pond. With views of the beautiful North Fork of the American River, folks will have the opportunity to take a look back at the history of the area and watch for birds with us! This hike will help you start off a new year of outdoor explorations, so let's hit the trail together!
This hike features some elevation changes and a moderately steep hill out of the parking lot meeting point. The trail is mostly gravel and may be muddy depending on preceding weather. This hike is not ADA accessible. Please come prepared with layers and appropriate footwear, the hike will happen rain or shine so plan accordingly! Meeting details, prep information, and more will be provided in a response email, as well as forecast updates if the the weather is looking particularly stormy in the days before the event.
