SAS Field Trip: North Lincoln Cemeteries and Byways

Registration is NOT required for this field trip.

Field Trip Leader: Jane Taylor

We’ll look for passerines, raptors and woodpeckers along roads leading to and in Manzanita and Morgan Oaks cemeteries, where Lewis’s Woodpeckers, California Quail and Lark Sparrows are often found. A restroom is available at Morgan Oaks. Anticipate easy walking of 2 - 3 miles on gravel or perhaps wetter grassy trails.

Meeting Location: Meet north of the city of Lincoln along the lightly-traveled Chamberlain Rd, just northeast of Sheridan-Lincoln Blvd (Old Hwy 65). You can access this location via Hwy 65 (Lincoln Bypass), by heading east on W. Wise Rd, turning left on Sheridan-Lincoln Blvd (Old Hwy 65), and, in 0.6 mile, turning right onto Chamberlain Rd. FRS radios may be helpful. Dense fog, heavy rain, or high winds cancel.
